Your community
Te Mātāwai at 139 Greys Ave, Auckland has several communal spaces available free for residents, their whānau and for the wider community. Some spaces are open to use anytime, while others can be booked for exclusive use.
The spaces are designed and resourced to support social connections, community building, and foster a sense of community.
Request to book a space
Booking requests are made via SpacetoCo or via the Te Mātāwai Community Hub.
Visit our homepage and use the button to 'Book a space'. This will take you to the booking site, then....
- Sign up with SpacetoCo - it is free and easy to do. To complete sign up, you will just need an email address, password and phone number.
- Once you have found a space you would like to book, view its availability and request to book it.
- First time users must have an in-person induction with the Te Mātāwai staff before you can use communal spaces. The induction will cover accessing the space and expectations of use.
- Booking requests are reviewed within two working days (Monday to Friday). Bookings must meet our Te Mātāwai communal spaces guidelines.
- After the induction and signing terms and conditions, you are now ready to use the booked communal space.
- For future approved bookings, you will just need to sign in at the Te Mātāwai reception. Always allow at least 2 working days for your booking.
These spaces are free to the residents and the community. Visitors are encouraged to contribute to the community in other ways.
Care for people and place
- Please respect the spaces and each other. Contribute to a caring community.
- All activities should be considerate of the people living and working at Te Mātāwai, and our immediate neighbours.
- The spaces are smoke and alcohol free.
- Care for the spaces, by cleaning up afterwards and returning the space to its original layout.
- Follow the Te Mātāwai visitor rules and flag any concerns to Te Mātāwai staff.

If you are a resident, you can also contact the community development team for support to make a booking or sign up to the Te Mātāwai Community Hub.
If they are not available, please speak to the Hapori Kaitiaki at the Te Mātāwai reception.
Te Mātāwai
Te Mātāwai is located at 139 Greys Ave, Auckland. It comprises 276 homes, 24/7 Hapori Kaitiaki (community guardians service) and support services, communal and commercial spaces creating a vibrant community destination.
The communal spaces are in all three buildings of Te Mātāwai. The ground floor and first floor of Waiora, ground floor of Matawhānui and the roof top of Waitapu.
